Make it sustainable.

At CarbonKare, sustainability isn't a certification we add on top — it's the filter we apply before we ever recommend an ingredient or a manufacturer partner.

Why Scope 3 starts with sourcing ?

For most cosmetic brands, raw materials are the single largest source of emissions in the entire product lifecycle — bigger than packaging, bigger than transport, often bigger than manufacturing itself. Which means a Scope 3 reduction target isn't primarily a formulation question. It's a sourcing question.

It's also one of the few Scope 3 levers a brand can act on directly, without waiting on a supplier's multi-year roadmap: choosing a natural, biosourced or upcycled ingredient over a conventional one is a decision you can make on your next reformulation, not in five years.

That's the lever CarbonKare is built around. Every sourcing mission we run treats impact as a selection criterion from the first supplier long-list — not as a report generated after the ingredient is already chosen.

Our selection criteria

We only represent and recommend ingredients that are natural, biosourced, biotech-derived, or upcycled. This isn't a filter we apply after the fact — it's a precondition for which manufacturers CarbonKare chooses to work with in the first place.

Certifications we work with

COSMOS, Natrue, Halal, Kosher — certifications we already navigate for the manufacturers we support on the Go-to-Market side. Here, they're proof points for the ingredients we source and represent, not just a service line item.

Where we stand today

CarbonKare is a young company, and we'd rather be precise about where we are than make a claim we can't yet back up. We are an active suporter of TRASCE (Traceability Alliance for Sustainable Cosmetics)

For now, our own accountability comes from the same rigor we bring to client sourcing: every ingredient we represent meets our natural / biosourced / biotech / upcycled criterion before it ever reaches a client.
